Thanks again everyone.. and now we've got A Mother's Pride - The Sequel!!

As some of you will know, we were at Llanberis at the weekend. We went along to give Kat the cheque from the Albert Dock to Rainford walk which Keith and I did in May. On Friday evening, we bumped into Kat and Jackie, and Kat invited the family to come along on the walk (I had already been looking into plans for Mark and the boys to attempt it next year). Mark and the boys were more than happy to give it a try, though I wasn't sure how far they would complete. I knew that Mark had been on the mountain before, but this was the first time the boys had set foot on it. We went along on Saturday morning, and Mark, Calum and Conor set off along with the other Snowdon Rocks trekkers. I spent the morning chatting with Jules, her parents and friend (and various young ones!) and the lovely Steffan, who had everything under control at the tearoom. The Gibson clan were quite some time, which I took as good news, as it looked as if they were giving it a try. Jules and co caught the train up the mountain in time for Mike to reach the summit, and about a couple of hours later, Mark and the boys arrived back at the cafe after reaching the halfway cafe. They were soaked, so they went back to the guest house for a shower and change of clothes.

Our fundraising plans for LHSF for 2010 include at least one music night locally (probably first weekend in May, but yet to be confirmed - will have to be on the Friday to keep the entertainment cost down though) then a return trip for Mark and the boys up Snowdon at the Snowdon Rocks event. If the three do it, because of Conor's age, it will probably be to the halfway cafe again, though Mark did have his eye on going to the summit with Calum. We'll see.. Either way I'm really proud of the three of them.

Calum showed he still had plenty of energy when he rocked when Mike did his stint at the post-walk gig.. plenty of singing and air guitar for all to see. I'm just glad that Mike didn't find it offputting!! :)
