just watching this here...he's serving to win queens.
improving all the time the lad is, he's exceptionally good..but still below two greats of the game in federer and nedal.

what's your opinions on him for wimbledon ?

edit : he's just won queens

He has a chance of winning. I think Henman had a chance, but Murray has more of one.

Nadal may not be taking part, and if he does he may be carrying an injury.

With a possibly wounded Nadal it will be old Roger that will be the one to beat. Murray has certainly come on leaps and bounds and he does have a good chance of winning this year. But we get used to disappointment (Henman) and so we won't hold our hopes too high and if he does manage to win it all it will be a nice bonus :)

if nedal starts he'll be right..that injury will be sorted or he wont start....and, easy to say in hindsight, but henman was never going to win it...he was good no doubt, but not god enough to win a wimbledon.

well..he's about to start against roddick..his match, 2 matches ago, against wawrinka showed me he's got the maturity and man-ness to win this...he is very very good...wawrinka was superb in that match, a world class opponent and murray had to dig deep to win that...i wasvery impressed...
he seems to have grown in some ways during the tournament...it wouldnt surprise me if he could give federer kittens if he makes the final.

He Could win it and I wish him all the best of luck, however I'm sick of all the hype, I just wish the media would shut the hell up and let the lad play tennis, I think Headman not only had to beat his opponent but he had the weight of the media and the public holding him back and I feel that ruined and chance he had.
You know what gets up my goat is when the sports report or the news coverage starts with "here at SW19" I don't need to know the bloody post code for Wimbeldon, I have no intention of sendin them anything.....

rant over.

Well that's him out, pity really however I wonder how much undue pressure he was under.
In a little way I'm glad because it would have been unbearable if he had won it.
I guess now he will be refered to as a Scot rather than British.

oh, come on james...stop with all that scot v british thing..i'm hearing it everywhere..i'm sure it must be exaggurated..
tell you what though james brother...murray showed me he's got the goods to win that tournament...there was virtually nothing between him and roddick there...he lost 2 close tie breaks, thats what did him...
now..isnt roddick the business?..god he is strong, not just the massive serve but all his shots...be interesting how federer handles him...although federer is amazing in every department..
be good on sunday i think.

I thought that Roddick was pretty immense in that match. He showed a lot of character to bounce back like he did. His serve is amazing. I thought I saw that one of them was over 135mph! Roddick played shots that he never normally does and when he came to the net he was unbeatable.

Murray, give him his due made it a great match to watch and some of his errors were very very costly. Whilst it might of been nice to see him in the final I think that Roddick played with little pressure on him. He said in his interview after that the pressure was really on Murray. He goes into the final with little pressure. It is on old Roger to beat the record, that hopefully will leave the door open for Roddick to steal the match :)

As for the Women's final - it's all a bit dull in the ladies game at the moment. The Williams sisters seem to do hardly anything all year and then waltz into Wimbledon and take the title.

That was a really quick two weeks and surprise surprise, hardly any breaks for rain. That's quite ironic considering how much they spent on the roof for Centre Court!

But he is improving well on grass Doug. He played some incredible winners yesterday that had Roddick shaking his head.

The age old question of whether a Brit can win the final I think places too much pressure on his shoulders. Henman never could seem to handle it either. Maybe the weight of expectation should not be voiced until he actually reaches the final. He's had three weeks of that pressure (the week prior to the tournament being of course the news that Nadal would not play) and I think it doesn't matter how strong he is perceived to be, no one can handle that kind of scrutiny.
