Fantastic start - that was a real nail-bighter.

Well done The Netherlands, deserving winners.

England are in a lot of trouble now, due to the small group qualifying process. If tomorrow's game against Pakistan is rained off, they'll be depending on The Netherlands to beat Pakistan themselves.

Hard luck Scotland - good try, that.

Scotland showed England how to play. I thought that Scotland were going to beat New Zealand, just abit unlucky with some of the bowling and catches.

I'm really enjoying this twenty20 lark.
The Windies have just slaughtered Austrailia. Not quite as exciting as the England debacle, but what sixes.

That was a bit more like it!

Pakistan are the best Twenty20 team on the plant (based on games played since the format started) and they weren't even at the races last night.

Hard luck to Scotland - did you see that catch?

I'll post a link later.

You'll have to pardon this expletive-ridden and frankly borderline-racist post.

Fuck me, the micks just got into the super eights!

Back on planet PC, well done Ireland - that's an excellent achievement. I hope that Twenty20 becomes a way for the so-called 'lesser' teams to progress on the world stage in this variation, and subsequently to develop as cricketing nations in general.

I'm looking forward to getting up at 2:00am to watch Scotland play New Zealand in the second test in Wellington.

Australia out!

I think it'll be an Ireland v Netherlands final.

Ireland played great today. Really pleased they got through and Australia losing was a great result. I can't see England winning it but it's just a good game. I think all cricket should just be twenty twenty. :)

I think if you get into Twenty20, you can move on to the longer forms of the game later.

Test cricket is a cross between Twenty20 and Chess, with breaks for lunch and tea.

Not been around enough to update this, but I thought it was a great, well-organised tournament.

A good ad for the game.
